Chapter 2.0: gives an overview of the Indian shipping industry, ports and IWT
Chapter 3.0: outlines state of the coastal industry and traffic profile
Chapter 4.0: traffic projections
Chapter 5.0: economics of coastal movement and scope and feasibility for diversion of
traffic from other modes of transport
Chapter 6.0: outlines the process for selection of some minor ports and financing their
basic infrastructure requirements and broad costs estimates, application of
the mathematical model to minimize the subjectivity
Chapter 7.0: strategy for integration of coastal shipping and IWT
Chapter 8.0: recommendations and an action plan for “Development of Coastal
Shipping and Minor Ports”.
