NOTIFICATION 

New Delhi, the 6th July, 1982 

(Merchant Shipping) 

            G.S.R. 486(E)-Whereas a draft to amend the Merchant Shipping (Load Line) Rules, 1979 was published, as required by Section 344 of the Merchant Shipping Act, 1958 (44 of 1958) at pages 402-412 of the Gazette of India, Part II, Section 3(i) dated 6.2.82 with the Notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Shipping and Transport (Shipping Wing) G.S.R. No.132 inviting objections and suggestions from all persons likely to be affected thereby till the expiry of sixty days from the date of publication of the said notification in the official gazette.           

            And whereas the copies of the said gazette were made available to the public on 4.3.1982; 

            And whereas no objections or suggestions have been received from the public on the said draft; 

            Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 311 read with Section 436 of the said Act, the Central Government hereby makes the following rules, namely :- 

RULES 

            1.         short title and commencement ---(1) These rules may be called the Merchant Shipping (Load Line) First Amendment Rules, 1982. 

            (2)        They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette. 

            2.         In the Merchant Shipping (Load Line) Rules, 1979 for the Fourth Schedule the following Schedule shall be substituted, namely 

"FOURTH SCHEDULE"
