O N
G.S.R. 2585 - In
exercise of the powers conferred by section 92, read with sections 457 and
458, of the Merchant Shipping Act, 1958 (44 of 1958),the Central
Government hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Merchant
Shipping (Apprenticeship to Sea Service) Rules, 1960, namely: -
1. (1) These rules may
be called the Merchant Shipping (Apprenticeship to Sea Service) amendment
Rules, 1975.
(2) They shall come
into force on the date of their publication in the official Gazette.
2. In the
Merchant shipping (Apprenticeship to Sea Service) Rules, 1960, in sub-rule
(1) of rule 3, for clause (c), the following shall be substituted, namely:
-
“(c) he should have passed the second year
examination of the two year intermediate Science or F. Sc. course with
mathematics and Physics as elective subjects, or its equivalent
examination with the aforesaid subjects or the final examination of the
Training Ship ‘Rajendra’, or any other training ship or establishment
approved by the Central Government or served as a cadet or midship in the
Indian Navy”.
