T I F I C A T I O N G.S.R.- In exercise of the powers conferred by section 32 read with sections 457 and 458 of the Merchant shipping Act, 1958 (44 of 1958), the Central Government hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Merchant shipping (Apprenticeship to Sea Service) Rules, 1960, namely: - 1. These rules may be called the Merchant Shipping (Apprenticeship to Sea Service) Amendment Rules, 1973. 2. In the Merchant Shipping (Apprenticeship to Sea Service Rules, 1960, in sub-rule (1) of rule 3 for clause (c), the following shall be substituted, namely: - “(c) he should have passed Higher Secondary examination with physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as elective subjects or its equivalent examination with the aforesaid elective subjects or the final examination of the Training ship ‘Rajendra’ or any other training ship or establishment approved by the Central Government or served as a cadet or midshipman in the Indian Navy;” [file No. 28-MT(22)/70]
