Subject : Infrastructural requirements of various laboratories for one year pre-sea training course leading to B.Sc(NS) (IGNOU) course
Sir,
All the pre-sea training institutes conducting “One Year Pre-sea Training Course for Deck Cadets” are hereby instructed that they should meet the infrastructural requirements as per Clause 4 of Training Circular No.2 of 2005 including Navigational Laboratory, Seamanship Laboratory, Plumbing Workshop, Marine Workshop, Electric Workshop, Hotwork Workshop, Hydraylic & Pneumatic Workshop, Physics Laboratory & Computer Laboratory immediately. The next batch starting on January, 2006 will not be allowed to be conducted by the institutes who have not set up all the labs and fulfills other requirements of IGNOU course. The institutes were given provisional approvals subject to final approval after ‘Joint Inspection’ of IGNOU & DGS. It may be noted that the 4th batch commencing from January, 2006 can be conducted only by the institutes having the final approval. It is presumed that all institutes must have already geared up and set up all laboratories and ready for inspection. They must indicate their readiness for final inspection by 10th July, 2005, otherwise it will be presumed that they are not ready and will not be allowed to conduct January, 2006 batch.
The institutes should intimate this Directorate on completion of the above infrastructural facilities to enable this Directorate to carry out a joint inspection by IGNOU representative and Member of academic council[DGS].
