Review of fees/charges for various services rendered by Directorate General of Shipping

Ref: This office circular letter of even number dated 3/6th December, 1999 on the above subject.

The Directorate General of Shipping and Ex/Officio Additional Secretary to the Govt. of India has decided to incorporate the following amendment under item Nos. 3, 7 & 8 and also add a new item No.11 in the aforesaid circular with immediate effect as follows:-

3) Processing fee for specified period licence per ship per month for foreign flag vessels for coastal operation. Any period less than one month or fraction thereof would be considered as one month and minimum fee applicable for one month would be charged.
Rs. 5,000/-
7) Processing fee for charter permission on time charter basis for a period not exceeding 90 days. (Fees for extension of time charter permission for the periods in excess of 90 days would be calculated on a pro-rata daily basis).
Rs. 25,000/-
8) Processing fee for Bare-Boat Chartering in of foreign flag vessel. (Fees for extension of Bare-Boat chartering in permission in respect of foreign flag vessels for periods in excess of one year would be calculated on a pro-rata monthly basis).
Rs. 50,000/-
11) Processing fee for Specified Period Licence per ship per month in respect of chartering in of foreign flag vessel for operating on cross trade/overseas trade. (Any period less then one month would be calculated as a whole month).
Rs. 10,000/-
The levy of the above fees will come into force with immediate effect. It may be noted that the payment of the fees prescribed above is to be made by way of Demand Draft drawn in favour of "the Director General of Shipping",payable at Mumbai along with each application. It may be noted that the requests for issue of Licence/permission for Indian as well as Foreign flag vessels will not be considered unless the requisite fees is paid.
