Review of fees/charges for various services rendered by Directorate General of Shipping

Ref: This office letters No. F&A-12/3/97-Vol.I both dated 29.4.1997 regarding fees to be charged for various services rendered by Directorate General of Shipping

The Directorate General of Shipping has decided revision of fees under various heads with effect from 15.12.1999 :-

1) Processing fee for General Trading Licence per Ship per year in respect of Indian registered Foreign going vessels.
Rs. 10,000/-
2) Processing fee for General Trading Licence per ship per year in respect of Indian registered Coastal vessels including Offshore Supply Vessels
Rs. 5,000/-
3) Processing fee for Specified Period Licence per ship per month for foreign flag vessels upto a maximum period of one year. Any period less than one month or fraction of month would be considered as one month and minimum fee applicable for one month would be charged.
Rs. 5,000/-
4) Processing fee for voyage licence per voyage for foreign flag vessels for not exceeding one month and every consecutive voyage would also be charged @ Rs. 5,000/- per voyage for a period not exceeding one month. Any period less than one month or fraction of month would be considered as one month and minimum fee applicable for one month would be charged.

5) Licence application Form fee.

6) Processing fee for charter of foreign flag vessels on voyage basis per voyage not exceeding one month for Export or Import.
Rs. 20,000/-
7) Processing fee for charter permission on time charter basis for a period not exceeding 3 months would be charged on pro-rate basis.
Rs. 25,000/-
8) Processing fee for Bare-Boat Chartering in of foreign flag vessel.
Rs. 50,000/-
9) Processing fee for approval of Contract ofAffreightment for each vessel (upto one year).
Rs. 25,000/-
10) Processing fee for Amendment of Charter proposals viz. change of laycan, change of vessel, change of owners, etc.
Rs. 1,000/-
The levy of the above fees will come into force with immediate effect from 15.12.1999 and it may please be noted that you have to make payment of the above prescribed fees by way of Demand Draft drawn in favour of Director General of Shipping, Mumbai along with each application. It may be noted that the request as for issue of Licence/permission for Indian/Foreign flag vessels will not be considered unless arranged by the requisite fees.
