Sub: Furnishing information regarding detention while sending application for General Trading License

The issue regarding port state detention of large number Indian ships during foreign voyage was discussed at length at the Port State Control meeting held on 08.08.2003 with all stakeholders. After detailed discussion it was agreed and decided that the information relating to detention during foreign voyage should be summarized and should be sent along with the application for issuing / renewing General Trade Licenses.

In case the vessel is detained on more than one occasion during a calendar year, the vessel will be considered suitable only for coastal voyage and it license may, at the discretion of the competent authority, be modified for coastal voyage.

The above shall come into effect from 01.09.2003.
