This Directorate has been receiving numerous correspondences seeking clarifications on SD Circular 8 of 2003. The contents of the SD Circular No.8 re very clear the facts that from 1.4.2004, the circular is applicable for Crude and Product Tankers not withstanding the type of cargo carried by them. Hence, it will be applicable to product tankers, even if, they do not carry Petroluem Products.
