PUBLIC NOTICE

In pursuance to the Hon'ble Madras High Court's Order dated 7.8.2008 passed in M.P. No.1 of 2008 in W.P. No.17370 of 2008 in respect of OPENNET exam conducted for admission in “one year Diploma in Nautical Science leading to B.Sc.[Nautical Science]” for August, 2008 batch,  the DGS/IGNOU have reduced the overall cutoff percentage of passing by 10% in all categories [i.e. General, OBC, SC , ST & Female]  in the OPENNET Exam held on 15.06.2008, to bring it at par with the cut off marks of  the previous year.
 

The list of additional candidates declared qualified in OPENNET Exam is available on website www.ignou.ac.in and www.dgshipping.com.  The candidates may approach the maritime training institutes of their choice for admission immediately. The institutes are required to communicate to IGNOU by 27^th August, 2008, the number of vacancies available for allotment to the candidates from such extended list.  The institutes shall finalize the admission of such candidates by  5^th September, 2008.
