Subject : Amendments to NT Branch circular No. NT/ISPS/SHIP/09/04
dated 27.1.2004-ISPS Code Application for coastal vessels.
Reference is invited to NT
Branch circular No. NT/ISPS/SHIP/09/04 dated
27 October 2004.
Inadvertently it has
been stated in paragraph 10(a) of the said circular that Regulation V/19
SOLAS 74 as amended with regard to installation of AIS is not applicable
when the vessel is less than 500 GT and operating within coastal waters of
India. Paragraph 10 of the said circular is accordingly amended as follows:

Entire paragraph 'a' is deleted.

Existing paragraph b & c are renumbered to read as 'a' & 'b' respectively.

Paragraph 10A is inserted to read as follows.
"Provisions for installation of AIS as provided in SOLAS 74 as amended shall be complied with by ships operating within coastal waters of India as applicable"
