Sub: Exemption from carrying ITU Publications of Coast of India

            In accordance with the provisions under M.S. (DSRC) Rules 1995, requirement under the SOLAS Convention and the ITU directives, every maritime mobile unit (merchant ships) is required to carry the applicable “ITU publication” at all times.  Such publications include 6 volumes containing list of coast stations, ships station, special service station, etc. alongwith the ITU manuals. 

            Consequent to several requests from vessels operating in or around Indian Coast, the Directorate General of Shipping in partial relaxation from the above requirement directs that all such vessels including the mobile offshore units while operating in or around Indian Coasts shall carry the following: 

          1.          ITU manual for maritime mobile station.
  
2.
          Admiralty list radio signals - Vol.5 

         It must be ensured that the publication should be valid with all necessary amendments as applicable on date.
