Sub: Wearing of Safety Helmet

 It has come to the notice of this Directorate that the seafarers working on board the vessels do not wear the 'Safety Helmet' on their head while they are on job especially when they are climbing up and down the coolie &/or/pilot ladder, causing tragic incidents. All Training Institutes are therefore, directed to provide for practical sessions of climbing up and down the pilot and coolie ladders wearing the 'Safety Helmet' to all trainees undergoing PSSR and all Pre Sea courses. This may be strictly complied with.
