Subject : MEO Class I Examination
 

                   The Directorate has received numerous representations from the candidates requesting to continue with the exemption granted from appearing in MEO Class – I examination as per the EAC Branch Circular No. 62 dated 19th April 2004, Circular No. 65 dated 15th June 2004 and Circular No. 74 dated 12th August 2004. 

2.                Even though the extension was granted till 31st December 2004 few candidates were unable to clear the examination, as such, the Directorate has now re-considered the case and "one time exemption" is being granted from attending the preparatory course of MEO Class I, so as to enable the candidates to sit for MEO Class I  (new) examination in the month of April 2005.  This exemption is granted to only such candidates who have passed "written and oral examination" of all functions of MEO Class II (new) as stated in instructions to Examiners Circular No. 74, but by 31st March instead of 31st December.

3.       Following institutes are approved for MEO Class I preparatory  courses.

1.     Marine Engineering & Research Institute, P-19, New Taratalla Road, Kolkata – 700 088.

2.     Lal Bahadur Shastri CAMS&R, Hay Bunder Road, Mumbai–400 033.
