We have already issued Training Circular No 2 of 2004 advising the training institutes to get themselves benchmarked from any one of the three rating agencies notified. This was done to further ensure that the maritime institutes are adequately equipped to impart quality training. Requests received from industry to allow more institutes to conduct ISPS course has been reviewed and reconsidered. It has now been decided that the request for fresh approval for ISPS courses will be considered from the institutes which have got themselves benchmarked and have got reasonably good grade. Any institute desiring to conduct ISPS course may apply to the Directorate, enclosing the copy of the their benchmarking certificate. Other conditions like fee etc. will be continued to be governed as stipulated in earlier M.S. Notices on the subject mentioned above. This notice will come into force with immediate effect. This issues with the approval of the Director General of Shipping and ex-officio Addl. Secretary to the Govt. of India.
