1. It has
been observed that the requests for reallocation of intake from February
to August batch for conducting one year pre-sea Diploma in Nautical
Science Course are received throughout the year from the Maritime Training
Institute conducting this course.
2. Once an institute has commenced the February batch, the
reallocation of intake from February to August batch for that year results
in the annual intake capacity going beyond the sanctioned capacity for the
course. Therefore, if the Institute has already inducted students for the
February batch of the DNS Course, no request for re-allocation of intake
shall be entertained for the August batch of that year.
3. To overcome this problem, all the maritime training institutes
conducting DNS Course are advised that the proposal for re-allocation of
intake capacity should be submitted by 1st October of the year so that
decision can be taken before the commencement of the February batch of the
subsequent year.
4. This issues with the approval of the Director General of Shipping
& Ex-Officio Additional Secretary to the Government of Ind
