Sub: Incorporating the Emblem of Govt. of India in Article of Agreement for Employment of Seafarers

 Revised form of Articles of Agreement for employment of seafarers has been promulgated vide D.G. Shipping Order No.7 of 2002 and 7A of 2002 under Section 456 of the Merchant Shipping Act 1958. Representations have been received in this office that the revised format does not contain the Emblem of Govt. of India. Accordingly, the Director General of Shipping and ex-Officio Additional Secretary to Govt. of India has decided to incorporate the Emblem of Govt. of India in the revised format to enable port, immigration and other concerned authorities, in India and abroad, to acknowledge the revised form as one promulgated under Merchant Shipping Act 1958.

The format containing the Emblem of Govt. of India is available on DGS web site www.dgshipping.com and http://dgshipping.nic.in. The employers and agents may download the format and ensure that the Articles of Agreement printed adheres to the size and specifications mentioned in DGS Order No.7 of 2002 and 7A of 2002 and contains the Emblem of Govt. of India.
