Subject: Implementation of 'Ship Registration & Mortgage e-Module online

1.    The Directorate has implemented an E-Governance System under 'eSamudra' project for "Ship Registration and Mortgage" e-Module in order to ensure transparency and increasing efficiency of its operations through better utilization of information technology. The e-Module is developed with an aim to reduce human intervention and speed up the process through online application. The e-Module facilitates Ship owners for applying 'online' application for Ship Registration & Mortgage. 

2.    It is decided that, the e-Module will be go live w.e.f. 15^th June to 30^th June 2011 on trial. During the trail period help line Nos. 022-22613651/2/3/4, Extn. Nos. 282/283 may be used for any assistance. From 1^st July 2011, online system implementation will become mandatory and acceptance of manual application for Ship Registration & Mortgage, will thereafter discontinue, except in contingency wherein, the domain server is non-functional for substantial period of time. 

3.    Annex 1 of this notice provides the salient functional features of the e-Module. 

4.    MMDs are advised to follow the 'User Manual' which has already been provided to them for all the internal processes of various on-line applications. 

5.    This is issued with the approval of the Director General of Shipping & ex Officio Addl. Secretary to Govt. of India.
