Subject: Merchant Shipping (Recruitment & Placement of Seafarers) Rules 2005 - Placing the names of Recruitment & Placement Services on Website-regarding.
Under Rule 5 of the Merchant Shipping (Recruitment & Placement of Seafarers)
Rules, 2005 a licence will be issued by Seamen's Employment Office to a
Recruitment and Placement Service after receiving the authorization from the
Director-General.
Under Rule 5(b) of the aforesaid rules the details of licence are required
to be placed on the website in order to enable the seafarers and other
concerned agencies to access this information.
Accordingly, the Seamen's Employment Offices at Mumbai/Kolkata/Chennai are
requested to forward details of licences issued to the Recruitment and
placement Services to the Crew Branch of this Directorate every week, in the
format enclosed, in order to place the details on the DGS website.
