Issue No. 00
|
Dated: 06 June 2000
|
From the month of July 2000,
all answer sheets of Electro-technology and Naval Architecture
under the MEO Examination Rules 1989 and the answer sheets for
Function 5 - Electro Technology & Function 3 (Naval Architecture)
- Ship Construction and Stability and Ship Safety Environmental
Protection under the new Class IV MEO Examination Rules 1998 shall
be corrected by the approved list of Examiners at the respective
district. The answer sheets need not be sent to the D.G. Shipping
any more for correction. All answer sheets must be duly coded
and sent to the Examiners for correction and the mark sheets of
the same must be obtained by the Examiner of Engineers from the
Examiner in the appropriate form. All efforts must be made to
see that the papers are distributed to the external examiner as
much as possible and in rotation.
A definite time period has to
be set for papers to be corrected and result received at the district,
which should not exceed more than 2 weeks under any conditions.
The Examiner of Engineers are
requested to kindly notify the question papers' number for the
time being to enable the Directorate to send them the model answer.
Subsequently, the model answer will be sent alongwith the question
papers for convenience of the Examiners.
This entire exercise is being
evolved to cut down the time period for declaring results and
issue of certificates. Hence all efforts must be made to ensure
that there is greater transparency in the checking of papers,
greater autonomy in the Examiner of Engineers to exercise strict
control, quality and confidentiality.
