Further
to Engineering Circular No. 58 dated 1.9.2005, all firms requiring
registration as Bunker Supplier as per Annex – VI,
MARPOL 73/78 are required to be inspected under Quality Management System
(QMS) by Indian Register of Shipping (IRS) for verifying the
compliance of the requirements of Regulation 18, Annex – VI, MARPOL 73/78
and "Bunker Supplier" during transportation as stated in
Engineering Circular No.
45
and
52. The
companies are required to contact Indian Register of Shipping for
necessary inspection for verification. The Certificate of Registration
shall be issued on receipt of satisfactory report from the Indian Register
of Shipping.
