The Directorate had issued
Engineering Circular No. 51 dated
03/06/2005 wherein it was mentioned that it was desirable for the
Certification Bodies issuing Quality Certificate to be accredited with the
National Accreditation Board for Certification Bodies (NABCB).
It
is observed that some of the Manufacturing/Servicing companies/Oil
Companies dealing with Fire Fighting Appliances / Bunker
Supplying to Ships have Quality certificates issued by
Organization, which are not accredited with the NABCB.
In view of the foregoing, it has been decided that such companies should
ensure that the Quality certificates issued to them are from
body accredited with the NABCB by 30th June 2006.
This is issued with the approval of the Chief Surveyor with
the Govt. of India.
