Clarification D.G. Shipping Circular No. 2 of 2004

NO:11-TR(9)/2003

Dated January 28, 2004

Sub: Clarificatory letter to DGS Circular No. 2 of 2004 dated 1.1.2004

The examination center for Northern Region was promulgated vide DGS Circular No. 2 of 2004 dated 1.1.04. Subsequent to this circular, two examinations have been conducted i..e. 2nd Mate examination which begun on 5th January, 2004 and MEO Class IV begun on 19th January, 2004. There has been good response for nautical examinations. However, there was only one candidate for MEO Class IV examination. To conduct these examinations, logistics are required since there is no full fledged MMD established in New Delhi. In view of this, it has been decided that the examinations at Noida center shall be conducted only if there are 10 or more candidates available for such examinations. In case there are less than 10 candidates for particular examination for Northern center, such candidates will be accommodated in other centers. The candidate should give his choice for other centers while filling up the form for such examination. If he does not indicate any choice then automatically he will be considered for Mumbai whenever examination at Northern center is not conducted because of less than 10 candidates. This will be in force for the examination to be conducted w.e.f. 1st February, 2004.
