 NOTIFICATION 

            G.S.R.       In exercise of powers conferred on the Central Government under Section 435 X and Section 456 of the Merchant Shipping Act, 1958 and in partial modification of Nautical Wing Circular – Safeman/1/2004 No.10-NT(6)/2001-1 dated 1st January, 2004, the Director General of Shipping & ex-officio Additional Secretary to the Government of India, is pleased to decide that the stipulation of foreign nationals to the maximum extent of 50% of manning requirements under the provisions of Section 76 of the Merchant Shipping Act, 1958 and notifications made thereunder, as applicable, to the Deep Sea fishing vessels, shall positively come into force from 15th May, 2004, irrespective of whether such vessels are at sea or in port. 

            It has also been decided by the Director General of Shipping that no further extension will be considered under any circumstances.
