#DGS has imposed a penalty vide letter No. 2--TR(8)/2003 dated 20.09.2006 by reducing the intake capacity of the next batch of 4 year B.Tech (Marine Engineering) degree course by 10% of approved intake capacity forthwith, for the course.  The present approved intake for the said course is 80 candidates and hereafter the intake of the course will be 72 candidates by reducing 8 candidates. In case, the institute has commenced the next batch of 2006-2007, the reduction of the intake capacity of 8 seats will be applicable for the subsequent batches of 2007 onwards.

#Approved intake capacity has been reduced for the academic year 2008-09 by 20% i.e. the approved intake capacity would be 64 for the four year B.Tech (Marine Engineering) Course vide order No. 20-TR(8)/2003 dated 20th Feb.,2008

    semesters)
This approval is accorded till the interim period upto July, 2009, considering the training facilities being utilized by the institute from Hooghly Dock and Port Engineers Ltd.,Kolkata. The further approval will be considered on compliance of workshop facilities for afloat training i.e. Ship-in-Campus be ready by July 2009. The quarterly progress of Ship-in-Campus submitted to Directorate forthwith.
