Uniform /Books /Stationery	Uniforms - At actuals - Can vary yearly. Trainees are told the estimated amount in the prospectus itself. The rates of various clothings are put up on Notice Board Books & Stationery - Academy usually asks the trainees to get these on their own over the weekends or arranges to get these at concessional rates and recovers at actuals. Books & Stationery need not be bought through the Academy.

Personal Laundry, Telephone, Medicals, Passport	No charges levied for Laundry. Washing Machine & Irons are provided free. Trainees have to wash their own laundry. If required they can avail of the laundry shops just outside the campus. PCO’s are provided on the campus on actual payment basis. No charges levied for first aid. For anything serious, trainees pay for the medical expenses at actuals to the doctors who are just outside the campus and have agreement with DBMA. Passport is arranged & paid for by the trainees themselves. This is not DBMA’s responsibility. No Fees levied.

Fee for STCW courses	Courses are not conducted in-house. These are conducted at MTI, Powai, Mumbai and the charges for the same are paid at actuals after agreeing with MTI. We usually get concession for the block booking and same is passed on to the trainees.

Any other fees, if any	Re-Exam Fee at Rs. 500/- per paper and applicable only for the Mid Phase and Final Exams for those who fail in the main examinations. No fees for the Examinations in the normal course.

The ATS course is divided into three phases. In the first and third phase the trainees undergo training at the Academy for a period of one year each. During the Second Phase, the candidate sails on Board the Ship for a minimum period of 9 months.

1. Medical & Psychological Screening: At the time of admission, the Medical examination & Psychological screening test Fees are paid by the candidates directly to the facilities where these tests are conducted. This amount is however, first approved by the Academy with the doctor to whom the trainees report for their check-up and is displayed on the academy’s notice board. After Admission, the medical expenses of the trainees have to be borne by the trainees themselves. In case of major medical problems, the academy may take a sympathetic view and decide to pay the medical expenses either partially or in full. But this will be at the management’s discretion.

2. Waiver: The DBMA Management may waive the fees of deserving candidates who may seek reprieve from the payment of fees or financial help from the academy. This is entirely at the managements discretion. The fees may be waived in part or in full as well as concession for staggered payment of the fees (including payment after the course is complete and the trainee is working) is sometimes considered and granted in deserving cases. However, the fees payable to the DGS at 1% is paid in full, irrespective of whether the trainees pays the fees to the Academy or not.
