SEAMEN'S EMPLOYMENT OFFICE 

The Seamen Employment Offices at Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai are established under section 12 of M.S. Act 1958 to regulate the employment of seamen on rotational basis.Since 1992 onwards, instead of 'Rotational Employment Scheme', 'Retainer Scheme' for employment of Indian Seamen is in force.

The SEO is headed by the Director and supported by the Dy. Director, Asstt. Director and other staff.This office functions directly under the administrative control of the respective MMD (HQ).
